We had looked around at a few similar tours and decided with Whites due to their positive reviews; notably about the quality of staff and the fact you are not overly cramped onto a boat/catamaran. The staff on the boat were truly brilliant, I cannot remember everyones name, there was Raul, a younger man and apologies, the very English sounding man who gave the narratives/information. The water is very choppy however despite the conditions we saw both the whales and the dolphins. The current at Masca is strong and so I can see why there isn’t total freedom in how far you can swim off boat. We had plenty of time for jumping in and a short swim whilst stopped. The food was good and filling for the price you pay for the trip, the staff also offered further plates if people were still hungry as well as offering bananas throughout the trip. The boat did not feel crammed and there was opportunity to move about. It is a little frustrating when everyone rushes to the side to see the whales and dolphins as if everyone sat, they would all be able to see. However I understand we live in the “if it isn’t on camera, it didn’t happen” generation and so I don’t believe there is a quick fix to this. A brilliant day out - I would recommend WHITES to anyone visiting for a boat trip! Few notes for the staffs efforts: Raul was constantly attentive to everyone on board, he delivered safety in a way which was not overly stern but got the message across and gave freedom for people to relax. He was also brilliant in spotting my partner becoming sea sick, I cannot thank him and his colleagues enough for how they noticed, treated and constantly checked to see was okay; total professionalism and honest empathy. The younger man on board was also a star of this trip, if he wasn’t racing about collecting empty cups/bringing drinks, he was helping others around the boat (being the stable hand to help those trying to walk). It was touching to see that he paid so much attention to an elderly gent on the trip, I saw him go out of his way to ensure he heard all the information (by relaying this to him in person), he would walk with him and support him when we saw the dolphins/whales and quite touchingly when we had time to swim, he fetched a cup of sea water so this man could feel/experience the sea… honestly hats off to this young chap.

Really good trip out, got to see some whales and hear some information. Stop for a swim and a sandwich. Drinks available - not like a booze cruise so very much chilled. Would recommend.
